Announcing the 2023 SBAN Conference, Nov. 1-3!
SBAN’s 2023 conference will be held November 1-3 in College Park, Maryland, home to the University of Maryland and minutes from Washington, D.C.
After an energizing – but virtual – inaugural conference last year, SBAN looks forward to meeting in person to learn about the latest commercial gentrification research and on-the-ground efforts to combat small business displacement.
Please join us! Expect to participate in roundtables, workshop your projects, hear in-depth reports from SBAN case study grantees, visit local small business corridors, and network with people from across the country and abroad who are working to support BIPOC and immigrant communities. You’ll hear about what SBAN members and stakeholders are doing to address the challenges small businesses face. We’ll discuss how to advocate against displacement at the policy level and examine timely topics such as climate gentrification, the post-Covid funding landscape, and community ownership models.
SBAN will be soliciting proposals for conference panels, so look for an announcement about submitting your ideas soon. The conference is open to anyone, and registration will open this summer.
