SBAN produces scholarly research about commercial gentrification and small business displacement, including original research and analyses of the existing academic literature. We research the challenges small businesses face in gentrifying neighborhoods, provide data about BIPOC- and immigrant-owned businesses, and offer recommendations for policy and practice to address these challenges. We also highlight papers produced by other organizations and institutions working on similar issues, including our network members.
