SBAN in Next City: “Building a National Movement To Protect Small Businesses From Displacement”

SBAN and Director Dr. Willow Lung were featured in a Next City Q&A about how SBAN is building a new national movement to protect small businesses. The story, which highlights how our network is thinking beyond small-scale interventions to larger-scale policy that keeps small businesses in place, is part of “Lessons from the Field,” Next City’s series of interviews with anti-displacement practitioners across the country.
“By building this network of folks that across the nation are facing similar problems, but have different approaches, different constraints, different opportunities, we’ve really been able to build people’s imagination,” says Dr. Lung. “[We’re expanding] what they see possible in their local environments, but also be able to get support from folks across the nation.”
