State Small Business Development Center Resilience Guides – U.S. (nationwide)
Tool: Disaster Preparedness and Resilience Plans
Small Business Development Centers (SBDCs) are state-level centers funded by the U.S. Small Business Administration and state and local sources. SBDCs provide counseling and training to small businesses, and they work with the SBA to develop tools that support start-ups and business expansion.
In 2024, the SBA released a new national Business Resilience Guide, a comprehensive resource for small business owners who may not be familiar with disaster preparation. The guide includes best practices and template forms to help small businesses plan for and mitigate disasters. SBDCs in Nevada, Missouri, New Mexico, Washington, Oregon, and other states have tailored the national guide to provide state and local disaster preparation and recovery information.
