SBAN Director Talks About Landmark Calif. Commercial Tenant Protection Act
SBAN Director Willow Lung-Amam, Ph.D., spoke to Capital & Main about California’s SB-1103, the Commercial Tenant Protection Act, which gives commercial tenants some of the same protections that residential tenants often have. This landmark legislation would be the first of its kind in the United States and reduce the risk of small business and nonprofit displacement due to rising rents, hidden or unpredictable fees, problematic lease terms, and language barriers. SBAN members Inclusive Action, Public Counsel, and Small Business Majority have been instrumental in pushing the legislation.
