Tool : Anti-Displacement Codes of Conduct

RISE Economy in California created the first, and currently only, Anti-Displacement Code of Conduct. Financial institutions can sign on and commit to responsible lending practices. The code aims to strengthen relationships between financial institutions and local communities. It takes an explicit anti-displacement position by asking financial institutions to invest in low-wealth communities through affordable residential and commercial spaces, financing small businesses, and supporting government programs and initiatives that combat displacement. To date, over 90 groups have signed their code. Signatories agree to share data on their implementation of and compliance with the code.
