Sutton Wins Top Planning Award for Social Justice Work

SBAN Senior Researcher Dr. Stacey Sutton is the 2021 recipient of the Edward Blakely Award, bestowed by the Planners of Color Interest Group of the Association of Collegiate Schools of Planning. The award is given to a “worthy honoree who has supported the cause of social justice, particularly in urban planning or development, for communities of color.” Sutton, who is Associate Professor in the Department of Urban Planning and Policy at the University of Illinois, is also part of a working group that pushed Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot to make a historic commitment to community wealth building.
